Spiritual Book Club – Sunday, November 29 at 7:00 pm at the Church Hall
We are meeting again this coming Sunday at the parish hall from 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm The book to be discussed: Wounded by Love, by Elder Porphyrios. This will be our last discussion on the book. Please note that we will focus on the following chapters:

Nativity of the Theotokos

The Nativity of the Theotokos is celebrated on September 8. Please join us for the Great Vespers Monday evening at 6:00 pm and on Tuesday morning for Orthros at 8:45 am and Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am. The ladies of the parish are organizing a breakfast after the Divine Liturgy to celebrate Fr. Panayiotis’ name-day.

Feast of our Parish & 20th Anniversary Divine Liturgy

The Name-Day of our Parish & 20th Anniversary
This Wednesday evening, August 5, we will celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord on Mount Tabor. This also marks the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of our Parish.
Services on Wednesday evening will begin at 6:00 pm. Metropolitan Alexios will ascend the throne at 6:30 pm accompanied by the clergy of our area and we will proceed with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy. A reception and celebration of the 20th anniversary will follow in the Parish Hall after the Divine Liturgy.
On Thursday morning, August 6, we will celebrate the Orthros for the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord at 10:00 am (There will not be a Divine Liturgy)

Holy Week 2009

We are in the Holy and Great Week. We invite you to enter with us and experience the events of the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ. Sunday evening begins with the hymn of the Bridegroom Christ who is coming in the middle of the night. We are called to be ready to receive him: “Behold the Bridegroom comes in the middle of the night and blessed is the servant whom he will find watchful.”

Join us for all the services of the week to experience the presence of God in your life in a real way.

Spiritual Book Club – Sunday, March 29, 2009

On Sunday, February 22, we enjoyed the gracious hospitality of Plutarch and Tina Vamvakias, and had a wonderful, spiritually uplifting discussion on various topics in our favorite book, “The Mountain of Silence”.

The next meeting will be held on Sunday, March 29th at the home of Cedric and Peggy Dunkerly. Their address is:

Alpharetta, GA 30022.

At this next meeting we will have our final discussion on The Mountain of Silence. We will focus on Chapters 14-17. Please read those three chapters, so that they may be fresh in your mind.

The St. Nektarios book will be held over until the following gathering which will be in MAY. There will be no Spiritual Book Club during the month of April because of Holy Week and Easter.

Due to the fact that The Mountain of Silence has proved so popular for discussion, it was decided that we would use the same book again for the month of February. We will still be discussing Logismoi and strategies to diffuse them.

The book for the month of March is, “St. Nektarios, A Saint for our Century”, by S. Chondropoulos. The installation of the icon of St. Nektarios in our church in March will coincide with our reading of the life of this great saint. Copies are be available at our bookstore.
