Our 20th Annual Greek Festival begins on Friday, May 15 at 3:00 pm. The Festival will last between May 15-17, 2009. Come join us for a momentus cultural event.

Holy Week 2009

We are in the Holy and Great Week. We invite you to enter with us and experience the events of the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ. Sunday evening begins with the hymn of the Bridegroom Christ who is coming in the middle of the night. We are called to be ready to receive him: “Behold the Bridegroom comes in the middle of the night and blessed is the servant whom he will find watchful.”

Join us for all the services of the week to experience the presence of God in your life in a real way.

Spiritual Book Club - Sunday, March 29, 2009

On Sunday, February 22, we enjoyed the gracious hospitality of Plutarch and Tina Vamvakias, and had a wonderful, spiritually uplifting discussion on various topics in our favorite book, “The Mountain of Silence”.

The next meeting will be held on Sunday, March 29th at the home of Cedric and Peggy Dunkerly. Their address is:

At this next meeting we will have our final discussion on The Mountain of Silence. We will focus on Chapters 14-17. Please read those three chapters, so that they may be fresh in your mind.

The St. Nektarios book will be held over until the following gathering which will be in MAY. There will be no Spiritual Book Club during the month of April because of Holy Week and Easter.

Due to the fact that The Mountain of Silence has proved so popular for discussion, it was decided that we would use the same book again for the month of February. We will still be discussing Logismoi and strategies to diffuse them.

The book for the month of March is, “St. Nektarios, A Saint for our Century”, by S. Chondropoulos. The installation of the icon of St. Nektarios in our church in March will coincide with our reading of the life of this great saint. Copies are be available at our bookstore.

All Stewards of the Parish are invited to the Parish Assembly, which will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2009 immediately following the Divine Liturgy. The Assembly will be held in the Parish Life Center (Community Hall). A light lunch will be served for those attending. Please bring along the printouts mailed to you.

Wednesday Evening: Christmas Celebration, The Nativity of Christ
Christmas Vesperal Liturgy 5:30 pm, Vesperal Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great. (Holy Communion during this service)
A Christmas Reception will follow the Divine Services at the Church Hall.

December 25, Thursday, Christmas, The Nativity of Christ
The Birth of our Lord and God and Saviour Jesus Christ according to the flesh.
Orthros 9:00 am & Divine Liturgy 10:00 am.

Holy Unction (The Healing Service)

This coming Saturday, December 20, we will celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Unction (the Healing Service) after the Great Vespers. Great Vespers will be celebrated at 5:00 pm and Holy Unction at 6:00 pm

St. Nicholas Overnight Vigil - December 5-6

We will celebrate the Feast of St. Nicholas this year with an Overnight Vigil on the Eve of the Feast (Friday, December 5). We will begin at 8:30 pm with the Vespers Service followed by the Orthros at 9:30 pm and the Divine Liturgy at 11:00 pm. We expect to finish around 12:30 pm.

Please join us for a very special liturgical experience.

Prime Timers Christmas Dinner/Dance

The Prime Timers Christmas Party will be held at the Church Hall (Parish Life Center) on Sunday, December 7 starting at 5:00 pm with Apetizers. Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm followed by the Dance.
