The chantor is an integral part of the Divine Services in the Orthodox Church. His spiritual state affects the worship environment either to enhance it or regretably to demean it. For this reason the Lead Chantor (Protopsaltis) and those around him must have the right perspective and reverence. Here is a code of behavior to always consider.
